๐โจ It's here! After a few months of on-and-off tinkering, Particle Editor Version 2 is finally ready for you to check out! ๐ Iโm sure there are a few sneaky bugs hiding around, but if you spot any, just let me know and Iโll squash them ASAP! ๐๐ฅ
๐ So... whatโs new and exciting?
The biggest addition is the shiny new API that lets you load your custom particles into your game without relying on all those PART_TYPE_*
commands. Why is this cool? Because it means you get live reloading! ๐
Yep - that means you can have your game running and the particle editor open at the same time. Get to the part in your game where the particle is doing its thing, then tweak it in real-time using the editor. It updates right in your game! ๐ฎโจ
๐พ Every time you hit save, all the particle data gets saved for both the editor and your game - no extra work needed. Plus, you can export your particles to Raptor, the awesome wrapper by Cold Rock Games. ๐ฆ
๐ฅ But wait, thereโs more!
Version 2 now supports step and death events for particles. That means you can attach particles to other particles! Want raindrops that splash when they hit the ground? Super easy now. ๐ง๏ธ๐งโจ
